Financial Education for Our Community
An important part of the Abacus Bank mission is educating its communities about fundamental financial knowledge and skills. Every year, Abacus Bank conducts several free seminars in the communities its Branches serve to help people understand the banking system and how banking can support and strengthen people’s quality of life and business growth.

1/25/2018 About 100 Abacus employees attended the bank annual party to celebrate Abacus 34 years birthday as well as the year of 2018.

When been asked about Abacus received 5-star rating from Bauer Financials, Jill said "It's been very satisfying, and most importantly, it shows that we are strong to help this community. That where we want to be, it's to be strong to be able to reinvest and put our all of our resources back into this community to make this community as well strong ".
1/3/2018 Abacus President and CEO Jill Sung, along with William Hwang, VP of Community Relations and Boya Li, Marketing Manager, visited Guangdong American Association. In the meeting, Jill shared that the bank's goal is to seek community relationships where our impact would be greatest given our small size and limited resources. 10/12/2017 Abacus bank, partnership with AARP Pennsylvania and Chinese American Women's Sisterhood Society of Phiadelphia had successfully held a Fraud Watch Financial Education for Chinese speaking seniors in Phiadelphia.
8/27/2017 In order to promote the Chinese culture, sponsored by Abacus Bank, the 1st Annual Carnival Lion Dancing Extravagant will be held in Leif Ericson Park Brooklyn on 9/10/2017. State Senator Martin J. Golden office and NY Lotus Light Association will organize this event. 6/3/2017 Abacus Bank CEO Jill Sung, along with William Hwang, VP of Community Relations and Boya Li, Marketing Manager, held financial literacy seminars for 52 students from the New York Chinese School in Chinatown, NYC. The seminars focused on saving money, earning interest, and what banks look at when lending money. This is the first in a series of financial literacy seminars focusing on teenagers and the elderly that Abacus Bank is planning to conduct this year throughout its community.
